With the easing of restrictions for public gatherings and interactions related to the pandemic health emergency, the Playwicki Farm Foundation announced a busy schedule of upcoming community and special events to be held at the beautiful 110-acre historic farm located at 2350 Bridgetown Pike in Feasterville, PA.

“Once again, the foundation will be hosting a new and exciting four-part Second Friday series which gets underway on June 11 with a terrific program planned and produced by Mommy’s Lil’ Black Book, of Levittown, PA.,” states Rose McMenamin, President of the Playwicki Farm Foundation.  The company has been engaged to handle all of the Second Friday programs which are scheduled from 5 to 8:30 PM.  The American Heritage Credit Union, of Feasterville, PA will be the exclusive sponsor in 2021.

According to Jen Flannery, of Mommy’s Lil’ Black Book, all of the Second Friday programs are open to the public and will feature food trucks and food vendors, crafters, a beer and wine garden for adults, a moon bounce and knuckle ball for children, balloon art and face painting and disc jockey entertainment.  “We are trying to offer something for every member of the family, young or old,” Flannery comments.  Additional Second Fridays will be held on July 9, August 13 and September 11.  “I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to come out to this beautiful farm setting and join the food, fun, entertainment and excitement,” she comments.  Parking is free at the farm.

In addition, the Farm Foundation will be presenting a host of entertaining and fun-filled special events for the public to participate in and enjoy.  The Love Grows Farmers Market offering fresh fruits and vegetables, many locally grown, will be open every Sunday, May through December from 10 AM to 1 PM.  Also, there will be a “Time To Remember Program,” a salute to 9/11 beginning that day at 8:30 AM, the annual Fun Day for children on October 23 which includes trunk or treat will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM and an Octoberfest on October 9 will unfold from 11 AM to 4 PM.

The Playwicki Farm is celebrating its 27th anniversary year since the Lower Southampton Township Board of Supervisors purchased it for the public to enjoy.  The Playwicki Farm Foundation was created in September 1996 as an independent tax-exempt corporation to raise money for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.  The funds are used for the repair, maintenance, replacement and preservation of Playwicki Farm and the development of educational programs.

The bucolic farm was purchased from the estate of Elizabeth Snodgrass on May 19, 1994.  It features open space, old growth forest, wetlands, agricultural land, a wildlife habitat, defunct quarry, a paved jogging and walking path, children’s play area, refurbished barn for events and a commercial kitchen.  The property also contains a variety of prehistoric and archeological sites dating back from 7000/6500 BC.  Playwicki means a place where turkeys run.  The Playwicki Farm Foundation can be reached at 215-357-7300 x326 or by emailing playwicki.far.foundation@gmail.com.
