Notice of Proposed Ordinance – Adopting a Local Services Tax Ordinance

Notice is hereby given that on December 13, 2023 at 7:30 PM in the Lower Southampton Township Administration Building, 1500 Desire Avenue, Feasterville, PA 19053, the Board of Supervisors of Lower Southampton Township will hold a public meeting to consider enacting the following:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LOWER SOUTHAMPTON, COUNTY OF BUCKS, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA REPEALING CHAPTER 24. TAXATION, SPECIAL PART 3, EMERGENCY AND MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAX AND ADOPTING A LOCAL TAX SERVICES ORDINANCE, ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE ORDINANCE, REPEALING ANY INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES OR PARTS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Upcoming PECO Gas Distribution System Work

PECO Contractor, General Asphalt & Paving, will be performing gas distribution system improvement projects in the Township.

The streets where the work will be completed are listed below.  Letters were distributed to the residents to advise them about the work.

  • Ponderosa Road from Old Street Road to E. Pine Street – Work to be performed 11/20/2023 – 1/15/2024
  • E. Pine Street from Ponderosa Road to Lacebark Street – Work to be performed 11/20/2023 – 1/15/2024
  • Lacebark Street from W. Pine Street to Loblolly Street – Work to performed 12/1/2023 – 4/20/2024
  • Loblolly Street from Redcone Street to E. Pine Street – Work to be performed 12/1/2023 – 4/20/2024
  • Philadelphia Avenue from E. Pine Street to Brownsville Road – Work to be performed 12/21/2023 – 1/20/2024

Bucks County Conservation District offering FREE Stormwater Workshop

On Saturday, October 28th at 10 AM, the Bucks County Conservation District will host a stormwater management workshop for Lower Bucks County residents.   This workshop is at the Central Park Pavillion, Byberry Road, in Bensalem Township.

With rainfall on the rise, the region has witnessed an uptick in stormwater runoff.  the runoff has led to increased pollution and flooding concerns.  This workshop intends to address these challenges by offering participants insights on various tools and techniques to enhance water quality and diminish the amount of water runoff from their homes and workplaces.  In addition, attendees will have the chance to participate in raffles and walk away with giveaways.
