Notice for Verizon Fios Customers

Verizon Fios notified the Township today that they will be changing the pricing for their various Fios TV packages.  On or after May 1, 2021, the base rate for Mix and Match Fios TV packages will increase by $6 per month.  This increase helps cover a portion of the escalating annual costs many of the network providers charge to Verizon for their programming.

Volunteers Needed

The Lower Southampton Township Board of Supervisors have established subsidiary boards and committees to advise them on various issues effecting the Township.  There are several vacancies on some of these boards:

  • Animal Control Advisory Board
  • Environmental Advisory Council
  • Planning Commission
  • Disabled & Senior Citizen Advisory Board
  • Veterans Advisory Council
  • Youth Advisory Council

Bristol Road to Close for Pipe Replacement November 16

Bristol Road will be closed and detoured between Brownsville Road and Neshaminy Boulevard in Lower Southampton and Bensalem townships, Bucks County, on Monday, November 16, through Friday, November 20, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for pipe replacement by Bucks County maintenance, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

During the closure, Bristol Road motorists will be directed to use Brownsville Road, Old Street Road, Street Road (Route 132), Old Lincoln Highway, Rockhill Drive and Neshaminy Boulevard.  Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Work on this operation will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.

 

Bustleton Pike Lane Closures Week of November 9th

Periodic right lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 532 (Bustleton Pike) between County Line Road and Route 132 (Street Road) in Lower Southampton Township, Bucks County, on Monday, November 9, through Friday, November 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for pipe repair as part of a project to repair and resurface 35 miles of state highway in Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling and repaving several state highways, as well as general maintenance in Bucks County.

James D. Morrissey, Inc., of Philadelphia, is the general contractor on the $10,457,349 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania’s transportation plan.

COVID-19 Grant Opportunities for Homeowners & Businesses

Bucks County Grant to Cover Delinquent Mortgages 

A new grant program (as of October 2020) will pay delinquent mortgages for qualifying individuals and families in Bucks County who have experienced reduced income as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Credit Counseling Center’s Foreclosure Counseling Program received a grant from Bucks County Department of Community and Economic Development to provide foreclosure counseling services and financial assistance for those struggling with mortgage payments because of the pandemic. While funds last, the grant will pay the delinquent mortgage amount for individuals who meet the unemployment, income, mortgage, property and eligibility requirements.

Bucks Back to Work Small Business Grants

The application window is now open and will remain available until Thursday, November 12 at 5 PM.

The Bucks Back to Work program is funded through the Federal CARES Act to reduce the financial burden that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused Bucks County businesses.

The total grant award must be used by December 30, 2020.  Some items that would be applicable under the program are:

  • Personal protective equipment for your staff and/or guests
  • Winterization items like heated bubble tents, outdoor heaters and blankets
  • Equipment leases
  • Rent and mortgage
