Don’t be Fooled by Scammers – Message from PECO

Scammers are continuing to aggressively target PECO customers and they are getting more resourceful and convincing every day. These scammers are contacting PECO customers and falsely claiming their electric or natural gas service will be disconnected unless payment is made immediately.

The most important thing to remember is to never give out your account or billing information to an unverified person. If you ever receive a suspicious phone call, text message, email, or have an unscheduled visit from someone in-person claiming to be from PECO, do not share your information and call us directly at 800-494-4000.

  • PECO will NEVER DEMAND IMMEDIATE PAYMENT, nor will we ever require one specific form of payment, such as a prepaid card, bitcoin, or third-party digital money transfers such as Zelle.
  • DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION. A real PECO representative will have the account information they need when they call.
    • Keep your banking and financial information safe. You can update your banking information through your MyAccount or make a payment through an approved method at peco.com/payment.
  • CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT STATUS, BALANCES, PAYMENTS, AND SUPPLIER INFORMATION YOURSELF on your printed bill or log on to your PECO MyAccount or download the PECO mobile app.

For more information on utility scams and what you can do to keep your information safe, visit peco.com/scams. If you are ever suspicious of someone claiming to be from PECO, call us directly at 800-494-4000.

DELAY IN TRASH SERVICE FOR SECTION OF TOWNSHIP

This afternoon, the Township was notified by JP Mascaro management that some areas of the Township may experience a delay in collection.  Everything will be collected on Thursday, October 3rd.   This is due to an explosion on a Mascaro truck in the Township.

We need to take this opportunity to remind residents that NO HAZARDOUS WASTE CAN BE THROWN AWAY WITH YOUR TRASH.  These items include car batteries, gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, oil-based paints, and other toxic/hazardous materials.  Also, please do not dispose of any equipment in your trash that may have gasoline still left inside the equipment.

Bucks County Planning Commission offers Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events throughout the year.  The next collection date is Saturday, October 26th, 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Strayer Middle School, 1200 Ronald Reagan Drive, Quakertown, PA.    For additional information on disposal options, please contact Bucks County Planning Commission at 215-345-3400 or the PA DEP Hotline at 1-800-346-4242.

Road Paving Update

Due to an equipment issue, Earle Asphalt Paving had to delay the completion of the following roads until Tuesday, October 1st:

  1. Hazel Avenue
  2. Rosewood Avenue
  3. Forrest Avenue
  4. 2nd Street

The above streets are receiving a new microsurface.  Microsurfacing is a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion that seals cracks and prevents moisture from penetrating the base.  Wet microsurface will stick to shoes, clothing, and automobiles, so please DO NOT walk on it, ride your bike on it, or drive over it with your vehicle until the surface is completely dry.  These roads will be closed for a few hours to fully dry.
